Make Your Salads Healthier with ‘Skinny’ Salad Dressing

Are you trying to eat healthier? Does the warm weather make you feel like eating lighter meals than the comfort food we tend to consume during the winter months? If so, you’re probably eating more salads, and thinking about all the nutrients and anti-oxidants you’ll be getting into your system with all those greens, vegetables and fruits.

But do you know that just by drizzling some of that store-bought salad dressing onto your salad can drastically increase the amount of fat and calories you consume when you eat that salad? Instead, make your own salad dressing with healthier ingredients to make that salad just as delicious and guilt-free!

Here’s my ‘Skinny’ Salad Dressing Recipe – this recipe makes 1 cup of dressing.

  • 1 cup of fat-free Greek yogurt
  • 3 Tablespoons white rice vinegar
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 2 packets of Stevia
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • a dash of freshly ground black pepper (or to taste)

Mix thoroughly and enjoy over your favourite salad – it’s that simple!
