We are living in a society of shortcuts, hacks and quick fixes. All I have to do is look at the ads that fill our newsfeeds and commercials on the television, to see that. It appears that everyone is looking for a shortcut in order to be able to have their goals met and it’s no wonder because all we’re seeing is highlight reels of others success.

Everyone wants the quick and easy fix, that plays right into the microwave mentality.

  • I’m sick, give me a prescription.
  • I’m fat, give me that 90-day diet. That’s too long, make it 30. No, seven days.
  • I’m not successful at work, but give me the promotion anyway.
  • My relationship sucks, I will look for new one. New is better, right?

If you want to have success in any of these areas, you have to put in the WORK.

It’s not the answer you were looking for? I get it… work is, well, work!

You have to put in the effort, and not just once or once in a while. It’s something you have to do every day, over and over. When you stop, so will your results and your successes.



Everything you want is on the other side of hard work. I could lie to you and tell you I have all the answers and my way is the magical recipe for the perfect body and true happiness but the truth is, in order to have success, you have to do the work every day. You are being lied to every day through marketing, media, and ads. There is nothing new, there is no gimmick that will make it easier. It’s time, energy and practice that will give you lasting success.

If you want to be healthier and lose weight, then you have to create healthy eating habits and keep your body strong. A pill, special diet, or magic workout is not going to allow you to reach your goal while keeping your old routines. It’s time to grieve for your old routines’ demise if you truly want change. You will need to say goodbye to old patterns that aren’t serving you and open yourself to something new, new ways of doing things.

If you want to be successful at work then you need to put in the time and conscientiously do your best, for all of your work projects. That’s not just for one particular meeting but every day.

If you want a relationship that is caring and loving then you need to show your partner that you care and love them even when you are tired.  Relationships are not one-sided, it takes two people being considerate of the other person and showing up every day.

True success is not going to happen overnight. If you want something different than what you have, then you have to put in the work to change it…  

Making excuses with the difficult/easy is not going to get you results. What is the difficult/easy? It’s filling your time with menial tasks that keep you busy and the tasks are familiar leaving you with excuses why you aren’t putting the work with the difficult/difficult… the things that will change you, change your routines, and change your life.

Stop allowing others to drag you in and sell you the next quick fix, the success that you’re looking for is on the other side of hard work, no place else.

You want to be fit, you have to work for it.

You want financial success, you have to work for it.

You want an amazing marriage, you have to work for it.

Nothing happens by chance.

Doing something half-ass will give you half-ass results. Think of it this way, it’s like expecting a gourmet meal from a place like McDonald’s, it’s not going to happen. You are going to get back what you put into it. Everything you want is on the other side of hard work

Ask yourself, when was the last time you found success without putting in the effort? I am confident when I say it would have been a rarity.


Make a choice, take action, be consistent and I promise, you will see results.
